The anklet went from holiday souvenir to a genuine styling piece. Worn well it lengthens the leg and finishes a summer look; worn badly it just looks like a forgotten bracelet.
Which ankle?
There is no rule any more — pick the ankle you naturally show more, usually the one furthest from your bag.
How tight should it sit?
You should be able to slip one finger underneath. Too tight and it digs in; too loose and it slides under your heel and snaps.
What to wear it with
Barefoot, sandals, mules and low sneakers all work. Avoid it with boots or opaque tights — an anklet you cannot see is just a snag risk.
One or two?
A single delicate chain reads elegant. A beaded anklet plus a fine chain on the same ankle reads holiday. Both are fine — just do it on purpose.
Match your other metals
